We arrived mid afternoon after a "one movie" drive.  That's about all the kidlets can handle these days without losing their minds.

My idea for car naps didn't happen...standard.  The kids were in rare form when we rolled into the lobby of the beautiful Loews Hotel in downtown Philly.  It's in a very cool old building that they restored (and added to) for the current hotel.  We were a little early, so our room wasn't ready.  With the screaming banshees hard at work, we quickly made our way to Reading Terminal Market.  It was steps from the hotel and AWESOME!!

For travel food nerds like us, we were able to sample some of Philly's favorites. Say what you will about millennials, but when I find a pierced and tattooed girl working at a fancy grilled cheese place, I ask about the best places to eat.  They didn't disappoint!  That place, Meltkraft was unreal.  Un Real good.  They suggested Dinics for a broccoli rabe and pork sandwich and award winning doughnuts from an Amish baker called Beiler's (Try the salted caramel!).  I should stop writing due to my food coma!

We walked back to the hotel, made quick work of wrecking our room, had lots of fun jumping on the bed, and headed to the indoor pool for a (super fun) quick dip.  They have been begging for a swimming day for a month so it was a huge treat!

The kids then had a bath and Disney junior marathon, all cuddled in bed.  The hubs and I cracked open (and finished) a bottle of pink champagne.  An early bedtime and we are off to explore for the day!

Xo,
Christy
