The best organic tinted moisturizers with SPF

For as long as I have worn makeup, I prefer a tinted moisturizer rather than a full coverage foundation. As a self proclaimed crunchy person, I'm also super careful about the products that I use. As a busy mom of three, I also need makeup products that easy to integrate into my beauty routine, and they also have to be multitasking products for everyday use. I have about five minutes every morning to slap some face oil on, some sun protection, and my full face of makeup. That's one reason I generally choose a sheer tint, with protection against UVB rays. It is often so hot and sunny in California, I need a good SPF.

What do I look for in the best tinted moisturizers with SPF?

The first thing I look for is the list of ingredients. I am looking for something with a broad-spectrum SPF with non-nano zinc oxide. I want to make sure that they use recognizable, more natural ingredients. If it has buildable coverage that works on drier skin (in the winter especially), while giving me a dewy finish and a healthy glow? I am thrilled. The other trick is that I want some certified organic ingredients in there. It is possible to find some great option alternatives to conventional makeup out there!

Before we start I have to tell you that I do not love a more matte look. For me (even with a lot of skin prep) it settles into fine lines, and it always seems to make my dry skin look drier, even in the summer months. I'm not 20 anymore people!! It is hard to find the perfect product, but I want to find you a good tinted moisturizer that makes your skin look fantastic!

Here is my list of the best organic tinted moisturizers with SPF!

1. PUR 4-in-1 tinted moisturizer with SPF.

This is my most recent purchase. It has a pretty good variety of skin tints that provide what they call as buildable coverage. I would say that it is light coverage with a slight sparkle. It isn't overwhelming like glitter, but a subtle sheen. With aloe, shea butter and vitamin E, it promises to improve the look of skin tone and texture. I find it to have a natural finish, and provides enough coverage. PUR runs about $24.

2. Juice Beauty-

This BB cream by juice is a cult favorite. This one comes in four skin tint options, and is a non nano, reef safe, lightweight formula that is great for everyday wear. It's active ingredients are hyaluronic acid, and vitamin E. With almost 500 positive reviews on amazon, juice is always a go to for my favorite beauty brands. It is 28.80 on Amazon.

3.Coola

Coola is another BB cream tinted moisturizer with SPF 30. Coola is a brand I use a lot, though I find this formula has too much coverage for me. The product description says that it is good for sensitive, or oily skin. It is one of the higher priced options, so if you can do a try before you buy, that would be my recommendation. The price is 52.00 (which is pretty normal for a luxury beauty brand), and I am actually disappointed in the number of color options (only three). It has over 700 four and a half star reviews.

4.Raw Elements

Raw Elements has a 95% organic promise, is also reef safe, and does not use nano particles. The package says that it is a medium tint, that works for all skin tones, though in my opinion that rarely works. It also claims to be good for up to 80 minutes in the water. For those of us that live at the beach, that's pretty awesome. The price is less at 16.49, and it has over 800 four star reviews. I was actually super surprised about that, and will try it soon.

5. Blue Mission

Blue Mission has an organic BB tinted moisturizer with a price of 39.99. This one is vegan and comes in a glass bottle. The lack of plastic makes me very happy! One note about the formula. They do not use any stabilizers, so the product will settle. Don't be surprised if you have to shake it before using. Blue Mission only has three color options to choose from.

6. Babo Bontanicals

Babo Botanicals introduced its more beauty focused product line in the last couple of years, and every thing that I have tried...I have liked. With over 350 four star ratings on Amazon, it is also a more budget-friendly option at 12.34. Amazon even has a coupon. Strangely, it only has one tint, so it will not work on a variety of skin tones. The particular formula is also in a stick, which is unique to the other products that I have found. It will also work for the whole family, so swiping it on a kiddo at a sandy beach would be simple!

7. LAMAV

I have never heard of this company before I started this investigation, but in the organic world there are a lot of small businesses that make amazing products. LAMAV makes a BB cream that they describe as being a natural sunscreen. It is a semi-matte, buildable formula, and it comes in only two colors. It has a lot of 4 star ratings, but I do not understand the sunscreen situation. They also recommend following with an SPF 15. I did read through the reviews, and none of them said they got sunburned. It is 34.00.

8. MyChelle Dermaceuticals

While this one is NOT organic, I really wanted to mention this one as it is my go-to tinted sunscreen. It is a bit more full coverage, but it does the job especially for the beach, or a long day at Disney. It has never done me wrong. It is a cleaner option, and I compare it to the Ilia Skin Tint, but at a lower price point. It is available at grocery stores like Whole Foods, and it is available online. It is currently 21.00.

This is just my list of things that I have tried, or want to try.  Are there any that I haven't heard of that you would recommend?  It is quite challenging to find tinted makeup that is organic, mostly because of the stabilizers needed to keep them shelf stable for long periods of time.
