Join Me! The Wounded Warrior Project Virtual 5k

 If you have been reading for a while, you know that ours is a military family.  Both of my grandfathers were in the military (one Coast Guard, and one Army), my father was a pilot in the Navy, and my husband was also in aviation in the Navy.  On my husband's side of the family, his father was in the Marines, and two of his sisters are serving...one in the Army, and one in the Air Force.  Just typing that is a LOT.  Ha!

When the Wounded Warrior Project reached out to work with me, I was so thrilled.  What is the Wounded Warrior Project?  They are a team committed to helping veterans with PTSD, veterans who need help accessing benefits, and basically anything a veteran might need to rejoin the civilian world.

I am working with the Wounded Warrior Project to promote and participate in the Carry Forward 5k.  This is pretty much the ONLY reason you will ever see me running, so if you want to see history in the making, you MUST join my team!

The Virtual 5k will be on November 11, Veteran's Day.  The first thing that you have to do is join my team!  Then you pay the registration fee (and the link to join my team is below).  That's it!  

There are three ways that a lot of participants show support while they run.  The first is they carry a flag, which shows support and patriotism, the second is weights.  Some participants carry weight to signify the responsibilities that veterans carry, or you can be fierce and carry an entire person.  You don't have to do any of those things either.

I would love to show you off as members of my team!  During the day of the race I will be sharing my progress towards the 5k, and basically shaming myself for being a non runner LOL!
