The Lego Movie 2, we saw it, and my kids reviewed it!

Ok guys, the Lego Movie 2. We saw it, we laughed, and the hubs cried.  Not because it was sad, because we have loved this franchise so much, and the kids were so tiny when the last one came out.  They grow up too quickly!  Anywhoo, we saw it, and I thought I would give my review, and one from the kids.  This post contains affiliate links, and here is a link to my privacy policy.

I took the whole family and we loved it!

It starts:

The movie opens up right where it left off, facing the DUPLOS, who are "here to destroy you"  in that super cute kiddo voice.  Then it flashes forward five years to a time when our favorite heroes are fighting to save their city from destruction.  Those darn DUPLOS are destroying everything, faster than the heroes can rebuild.

We love seeing some of our favorites,

Batman (Will Arnett), Benny (SPACESHIP), Metalbeard (Nick Offerman), Emett (Chris Pratt), Lucy (Elizabeth Banks), and Unikitty (Alison Brie).  They even added Rex (Chris Pratt), and my personal favorite, Queen Watevra Wa'Nabi (Tiffany Haddish).  I just love Tiffany Haddish, and think she is hilarious.

Sequels are hard to enjoy, usually.

Usually they just can't live up to the first, especially when the first one is as creative, and hilarious as the first. While it isn't quite as good as the first, it is a rollicking good time.  You will laugh out loud, you will miss SO many jokes (requiring another viewing or 500 if you have kids like mine), which is something I love about the first.  Every time I watch it, I find another hidden gem.  This movie is like that too.  The kids will laugh, and so will you (at the more mature jokes that they won't understand).

Some kid movies feel like a waste of time.

I hate having spent the money on them.  The LEGO Movie 2 isn't that way at all.  It was refreshing, smart, and funny.

Cursing or inappropriate language:

None.  I heard the word butt once towards the end.  I absolutely freaking love when a movie isn't full of potty humor, and mild cursing.

Short answer to your question is:

Yes.  Go see it.  It's funny.

The Lego Movie 2 opens everywhere on Friday, February 8, 2019.
