Do You Feel Like You Are Always Saying No to Your Kids? My New Years Resolution
I feel like the bearer of no lately. There isn't anything wrong with saying no, that's not my point. I guess I feel like my whole demeanor and attitude with my kids need a do over. We are forever preaching kindness to our children, but I don't think I have been setting the best example.
It's so frustrating to hear the same tone of voice, and the same words come out of the mouths of my kids. I hear myself say, "you need to speak kindly to your family." Then I have to facepalm because I probably sound exactly like that. Pretty much the worst feeling in the world.
This leads me to my resolution for the new year, to speak kindly. I need to find a new way to get my kiddos attention, one that won't result in my feeling awful when they repeat it. Here is what I am proposing...let's be accountable to each other!
What is your parenting resolution? I know we all want to do better, be better for our own kids. Let's work together to make that happen! I will check in periodically on Facebook, and we can update one another on our progress. Don't worry, I will be sharing the ugly too.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday!
