We Made it! Flying Solo to Florida (Part One)

Almost two weeks ago, I had my appendix removed.  It was not awesome.  I hurt in weird places, and the air they pumped into my abdomen gave me a 6 month preggo belly.  Commence recovery!  We had already purchased the tickets to Florida, and I figured there wasn't a better place to continue my convalescence, so off we went!

I know.  That last sentence sounds nutso.  I was channeling Polyanna to the nth degree, (hubby will be proud of my pseudo nerd speak) and I was DETERMINED that I could do it.  Guess what, I did.  Admittedly, I asked for help.  Two TSA guys carried my luggage to the gate.  The staff on American Airlines allowed us to be the first passengers on the plane.  The onboard staff were so helpful and accommodating.  It was one of those perfect moments.  Was I stressed and sweating?  Yes.  But I did it.

The kids were angels.  Absolute Angels.  The two big ones ate their snacks, played with their electronic devices, and pulled their own backpacks.  Baby Belle was entertained as well, and I didn't even have Frozen to fall back on!

We landed and Grandpa met us at the gate.  Did you know about that?  Upon arriving at the airport, you simply go to the ticket counter and ask for a pass.  They make you show ID and that gives you access to the gate area.  AH-ma-zing.

It's been pretty chilly down here thus far, but the kiddos have SO enjoyed being outside. We have taken full advantage of the awesome parks and outdoor activities.  (It's funny seeing the Floridians wearing Uggs when it's 65 degrees.  I have to giggle a bit, but it's probably just jealousy.)

I am so excited to share with you the details of our trip...stay tuned!

Xo,
Christy
