The weather is getting warmer, and it is time to start some new spring sensory activities! As many of you may know, I have a son with an Autism diagnosis. While that is just normal in our house, it does mean that he has more sensory needs than other children. Along with Ryan, we also have a toddler, Belle, who just loves getting down and dirty. Most preschool aged kids do, and I have collected some amazing Spring Sensory Activities sure to keep your kiddos busy-without too much effort from you.
1. Rubber Ducks Sensory Play- from Teaching Two and Three Year Olds
Water play is so much fun, and this activity is connected to the Eric Carle book, 10 Rubber Ducks. A little soap, some sponges, check it out!
2. Spring Flower Playdough by Play Adventures
Super easy to make this playdough recipe (or just use what you have on hand) and add some beautiful flowers.
3. Sensory Spring Water Table by Simple Play Ideas
This is one of my favorite sensory go-to's in the warmer months. Find whatever flowers you have around, and add some aromatic herbs, which can be fun to add the taste component for picky kids!
4. Flower Sensory Soup by Living Life and Learning:
A super easy indoor, or outdoor water activity. Simply add some flowers, some kitchen utensils, some fun pouring toys, and you have a low effort sensory activity!
5. Flower Garden Sticky Wall by Crafts on Sea
Absolutely ingenious! I love how she used the contact paper (and the washi tape for less mess)! Check it out!
6. Spring Time Sensory Basket for Toddlers by Natural Beach Living:
Do you ever feel like you would like to use the Easter Basket on other days? Incorporate it into play? This sensory basket activity will be your favorite spring time pastime.
7. Farm Small World by Uno Zwei Tutu
You can easily use all of those animal toys that you have around the house, a sensory bin, and some grass (or greenery). Hours of fun!
8. Edible Spring Flowers by Adventures and Play
This one combines two of our favorites, eating and Disney. You will have to see it to believe it. Wow! How fun and creative!
9. Bug Sensory Bin by Life is a Lullaby
We have a really nice plastic bin from the dollar store (with a lid) that this next craft, from Life is a Lullaby, will be perfect for!
10. Bug Slime Sensory Play by Little Bins for Little Hands
There has been a lot of controversy about slime lately, after a child was injured. If you use a safe recipe, you will be fine. My kiddos love slime, and adding bugs to it? Awesome.
I hope you enjoy these activities, and some warmer weather soon! I'm curious, do you have any go to sensory activities for your house?
