This is my list of criteria...
1. Does it work?
This sounds like a no-brainer, right? But, I can't tell you how many natural deodorants I have tried, before finding some that actually work. (Here is my post about the natural deodorants that work.) Don't even get me started on laundry detergent.
2. Does it make my life easier?
I just have to lay this one on you...Instant Pot. BAM! Better for my family than a crock pot (with suspicious materials), it fits into my dishwasher with ease, and makes cooking very simple. (Here is a link to ALL of my instant pot recipes.) Or, does it make food prep easier with the kids? Can I actually have convenient foods that are better for my family?! (YES.)
3. Is it cost effective?
This is a harder one with organics, but worth it in the long run. It does take some price comparisons, but big names like Walmart, and Amazon, have really brought down the cost of organics, making it more affordable. Please read more, especially if you are a Amazon Prime member.
4. What are the ingredients?
This is a biggie for me, and honestly a HUGE pain in the ass. Who has time to scour everything, when juggling work, kids, LIFE? No one. That's one reason I buy food with the organic label. It takes some of the guesswork out. Also, shopping at Whole Foods helps. Why? They have minimum ratings to even be sold in the store. It doesn't work all the time (hello La Croix and BPA), but it helps. Also there are people like me, and Mamavation, that will be willing to help (and answer questions). The word fragrance is a BIG no. If they don't disclose the ingredients, they may not even know. Huge red flag.
I hope this helps. Follow along with me on Instagram, and Facebook to see all of my adventures finding fun new things. Some of my favorites from last years show...
