Everything You Ever Wanted to Know about Libs Grill and Restaurant Week!

My family was hosted by Visit Howard County Maryland for the purposes of a review.  All opinions are
my own.

If you haven’t heard about restaurant week, you are seriously missing out.  It is one of our favorite ways
to try out some new (and usually high end) restaurants in our area, at a vastly reduced price.  You
can find out more about the restaurants participating at the Howard County Restaurant Week website.
Even if you don't live near me, just a simple google search will tell you who is participating in your area.

The only way we were getting a peaceful dinner...

Recently, a brand new bar and restaurant, Libs Grill, opened up close to our house,
so when the board suggested that we try it out, I jumped at the chance. We had only stopped by
once (I highly recommend the happy hour), and so it was exciting to try new, delicious fare!
Here is a link to the RW menu from Libs Grill.

Our appetizers were the Pretzels and Beer Cheese (which my hubby proclaimed to be the best he has ever had...), Oysters on the Half Shell, Fish Tacos, and Asian Fried Brussels Sprouts. If you know me at all (or follow me on Instagram) you know that they had me at Brussels Sprouts. OMG, they were amazing. A delicious rice wine vinegar/pork belly flavor had me not wanting to share at ALL. I did though, because that is adulting. I was very pleasantly surprised by the fish tacos. Crunchy, yummy, and my oldest proclaimed them her third favorite-after the Oysters (weird kid), and the meatloaf (but more about that later). Lib's has a huge listing of oysters available. They even have an oyster named after them! While oysters aren't my thing, the hubs and my oldest pronounced them delicious.

Our dinner entrees included the lobster mac and cheese that was light, full of large pieces of lobster,
with a truffle oil, and panko crunch. It felt so decadent! They make the pasta in house for the mac
and cheese and the short rib rigatoni, and we were thrilled to try that too. Words cannot describe how
hearty, and tasty it was. My son devoured the whole plate (and really didn't want to share). The pasta
was firm, the short rib was so rich and complex in flavor, the whipped burrata... oh my! Everything was
delectable. We had a bit of contention with the next entree. It was both my husband and my
daughter's favorite-the Roseda Farm Meatloaf. My oldest daughter was intrigued by the sunny
side up egg on top and, in fact, devoured it before I even got to try! The tomato jam gave it a very
lightly sweet flavor, that is definitely a step above the ketchup on grandma's meatloaf.

I actually ate most of the Pan Roasted Chicken, which was such a surprise. It had pieces of prosciutto, and
then on the bottom? Delicious mushroom ravioli that was a truffle-lover's dream come true. I am making
myself hungry writing this.

As if this wasn't enough, we were then treated to generous slices of Heath Bar Bread Pudding.
It's like they know me. Toffee is my weakness.
