We are headed out of town, and what our summer looks like!

Hello all, I know I haven't been posting as much.  We are getting ready to head out of town, and I have so much to do.  If you have been following me on social media, you know that I have been pretty pathetic lately.  I fell about two weeks ago, and sprained my foot.  I also have some crazy sinus thing going on, which has kicked up my vertigo.  Combined with having the kids home, it just means that I have been on the crazy train.  Not much work is being done around here.  This post uses commission referral links, and by reading beyond this point, you are agreeing to their use, and to my updated privacy policy found here.
Summer means you aren't supposed to get sick!  UGGG.  Sinus stuff just takes so long to clear.  I am really hoping that California helps to clear out what I have going on. Who knows?  Swim team has been in full effect.

Clara-despite not swimming all winter (any of the kids, though we caught a couple of weeks of a stroke clinic before she broke her foot) has been kicking butt.  We warned her that moving up to the 9-10 age division would mean losing every meet.  Much to our surprise, and hers, she has been placing consistently.  Along with knitting projects, and playing with her sister, she is keeping busy.

Ry-he is in his summer school program with the public school.  It started the first week of July, and goes until the end of July.  It is specifically for kids with high functioning autism.  They play games while working on social skills and language.  He loves it, and has no idea that he is working.  Win/win.  He is doing swim team too, but not really loving it.  He likes it, but we really struggle with finding an activity that is physical.  He generally has trouble following verbal directions, and gets really frustrated.  We are working on it, and my goal is to find a hobby that he will enjoy for life.  That's one reason we are sticking with swimming for now, nothing else has worked.  Except video games.  The boy is amazing at video games.  (Insert eye roll.)

Running to the bus for summer school!

Belle-she is generally just happy to be here.  She is doing swim team, but somehow (despite daily practice) seems to have completely lost forward momentum.  I am really not sure how that happens.  After the second meet, where she took over five minutes to do her leg of the relay (complete with huge smiles and thumbs up for us midway), I wrote a note to the coaches.  Please, for the love of God, no more relays.  She is just so fun to watch though.  Another aside.  Though she is on swim team, she did not pass the swim test for camp. That should give you an idea about how much I am hovering at swim practice.  This kid-doing it (badly) but with a smile.

This one absolutely ended up feet first.  Official member of the belly flop brigade!

Next week we leave for LA to visit the fam, and go to DISNEYLAND!  I am so excited to check out Galaxy's Edge, and I am determined to try some new things this time.  We always do the same things, and I want to see a show!  Try some new food!  I don't know.  I'm hoping to feel like a human by then.

Until then I will be packing like a sherpa, escorting some privileged, unprepared hikers up Everest.  That pretty much sums up the kids.  They will just wake up, expect food to appear out of thin air, and all the things that they want in the suitcases for our vacation.  Damn, I think I want to be a kid again.

Do you have big summer plans?
