Birthday etiquette...we all suck.

What is not funny about this post, is that I just read something about a little boy, and no one came to his party.  No!  That didn't happen to us, but I have to tell you I was panicking before our last birthday party.  It is one of the reasons that we have ditched them lately.  I can't believe I am actually writing a post about RSVP etiquette.  Move over Emily Post, my mama would be proud!  Here is a link to my updated privacy policy.

Birthday Girl, Birthday party etiquette

Here are my Birthday Party Etiquette tips:

1.  RSVP in a timely fashion.

I am not always perfect about this.  Ry has a little friend named Tyler, and I forgot.  I was really late.  Thankfully, the mom and I are buddies, so it was ok.  (I also apologized profusely for sucking.)

2.  If you need to change your RSVP, do it as soon as you can.

spiderman here was nearly disappointed at his party

3.  When you are contacting your host, please include your name, AND your child's name.

Honestly, I have three kids.  My son is in two different schools, and we invited all of the children.  I can't tell you how many folks didn't tell me who they were, or give me a child's name.  I was lost.

4.  If your plans change, even last minute, contact your host.

Literally everyone was late to Ryan's party.  EVERYONE.  I freaked.  The kids trickled in, but if you are running late (especially if the party is at a facility where the fun is timed), let your host know.

5.  Finally, please introduce yourself.

It was awkward at times, trying to figure out who everyone belonged with.  I don't see the kids, because he rides a bus.  I honestly was lost.

Do any of these things ring true to you? I can't be the only one who has had this happen...
