Healthy and Affordable Toddler Snacks

Healthy, easy, and affordable snacks for kids

It isn't as hard as it sounds, really. Or is it?  Toddlers can be picky little beasts and keeping the processed food to a minimum is challenging.

Cute, but she's picky!

My go to?  Bulk.  Amazon and Costco.  I buy these incredible organic dried dates at Costco.  It's a huge bag for about $8.  No added sugar (like it needs that!) and no preservatives.  Just dried dates. They are very sweet, and the kids love them.  Another awesome Costco snack is the Bare Fruit Fuji apple chips. They are very inexpensive compared to buying them anywhere else!  Those suckers are addictive.

From Amazon I put every organic snack on subscribe and save that I can.  If they don't have the subscribe and save option, it's still usually the cheapest I can find - plus no trip to the store!  Yogurt melts and Mum Mums for the Itty Bitties. Crackers and Raisins for the bigger kiddos.

From Whole Foods I buy the organic rice puff cereal.  It comes in a plastic bag and is generally less expensive that other cereals.  That goes into snack cups for an mid-morning break or gets mixed with yogurt for special cereal mornings.  I also keep an eye out for sales on new things we haven't tried yet! For on the go, Whole Foods and most grocery stores have these little raisin boxes that are perfect to throw into the diaper bag.

Trader Joes is another excellent resource. They make an organic cheese cracker and a peanut butter version that are a treat for the kiddos.

I pop all of these snacks into a snack cup and off we go!  Do you have a go-to snack for your kiddos?
