I love Crafty Mamas! Say Hello to Princess Awesome (with a Giveaway)!

I am so impressed by Moms.  Really.  Some of you ladies really take my breath away with all of the hats that you wear and all of the things that you accomplish.

Recently I decided to start a series of posts hi lighting some crafty ladies.  Really, I wish I was able to do what you do.  You see, I am a #PinterestAlwaysFail.  Bless my own heart, I really try.  Sometimes it even looks ok, but really.  I will just write a really pretty check instead.  Mmmmkay?

The first ladies I want to introduce you to started a business called Princess Awesome.  I literally ran across this the SAME day I decided to feature small business mamas.  It was fate.  I hope they make a zillion dollars and take over the fashion world. When reading their website, I came across this line.  "We are Princess Awesome because butterflies are awesome and so are airplanes. Because monsters are awesome and so are twirly skirts. Because girls are awesome and girls get to decide what it means to be girly."  Awesome.

want my daughters to know that being smart and liking dinosaurs and trains is fine.  In fact, it's better than fine. You can still wear a princess dress (says the Honeybadger) while it sports dinosaurs, or the pi symbol, or the periodic table.  Did I mention that my hubs wanted me to get them monogrammed for the girls with equations that when solved are their initials?  Confused?  I was too.  Seriously, sometimes he is too smart for me, but I do appreciate his willingness to #MonogramAllTheThings.

They sent me the SWEETEST little dress that I am offering up for a giveaway in honor of Pi day (3.14). That's right folks, you cannot buy a Princess Awesome dress right now because they are completely sold out and have completely funded their kickstarter campaign.  I have one, teensy, weensy, little purple pi dress (size 6-12 months) to giveaway.  Just one, but SOON there will be lots for everyone to buy.  I want one of all of them for the girls.

Because I want you all to know everything there is to know about Princess Awesome, here are some links for more information.

Eva: I grew up in Tucson, Arizona, and met my husband while we were both studying at Stanford. We married shortly after graduation and spent time volunteering in Kentucky.  I won a Fulbright to Germany where I studied medieval medical libraries; then we came back to California, and I have worked ever since as a web developer, mostly part-time since we have three boys - 9, 6, 3 years old - and a 10-month-old daughter.

Rebecca: I grew up in Evanston, IL, and met my husband while we were both studying at Brown University. I got my masters degree in education at Northwestern University, and I've been a full-time classroom teacher for the past ten years. I taught middle school Humanities in California, where my husband and I were living when we met Eva and her husband, and I've been teaching third grade in Washington, DC, for the past eight years. My daughter is four and a half and my son will be two at the end of February.

Good luck everyone!!
