Silver cleaning, crunchy style. Without chemicals and easy!

There is a way to clean your silver, crunchy style.  I am so slow, and I know that lots of you ladies have made this discovery before me.  You can clean silver easily and without chemicals!  It isn't hard to do, and you probably already have everything you need at home to clean your silver without buying toxic chemicals.  By reading beyond this point you are agreeing to my updated privacy policy, here, and my use of commissioned links, which at no cost to you, allow me to give you free content!

My grandmother and mother gave me a lot of silver.  Jewelry, serving pieces, a lot of it. I recently pulled out a pair of my moms earrings that I had not seen in a long time.  Mostly because of my ridiculous fear of ear piercing that didn't allow me to get it done until I was 30 (and shamed by my little sisters), but let's not talk about that now.

Those beauties were gross.  And they have these tiny links that are impossible to clean.  The idea of using my old silver cleaner (that requires gloves) on something that I will put in my ears just did not sit well with this somewhat crunchy mama.

I scoured the web and bingo!  There is an answer!  From apartment therapy I found this...http://www.apartmenttherapy.com/how-to-clean-silver-131048.  The best part was that I had everything laying around the house!

You will need:

1. A glass pan- like a pyrex baking dish

2. Aluminum foil to line the pan

That's it!  Boil the water.  Line your pan with the foil, add the salt, baking soda, vinegar, and add the water.  Let it cool slightly, add your silver, and let it sit for about 30 seconds.  Mine needed a minute due to the extreme tarnish.  It worked.  No kidding.
